Telescopic high seat….anyone used one?

Yes bud,we have 2 on the estate here. Only used by myself and underkeeper, generally for fox control or areas where the wonderful public would find "normal" high seats and trash them. Put them up last light and then used dawn next day in public access areas of the estate. Fox control, generally put up near an earth or wherever Charlie needs shooting IE lambing field or near a yard where a permanent highseat wouldn't be used often.
Not bad bit of kit, however I'm 6 foot tall and weigh 13 stone. Underkeeper was a jockey as a teenager so not a big chap. If you're one of those well built people you may find it awkward to use,a friend of mine who borrowed one couldn't turn around and get into the seat.
Otherwise fine, just not for permanent use.

The ladders are a Chinese knockoff from the original Swedish ladder made that is used by many fire brigades worldwide, I have one of those. If the knockoff is as good ?????

I have a telescopic ladder which, on the face of it seemed to be a good idea. In reality, it's a cumbersome, clanky, finger-trapping, flexible monstrosity that instils in me a sense of impending doom each time I'm forced to use it.

They're okay, but not for permanent use. Also, if you leave them out in the rain, they tend to fill up with water which comes out at high pressure when you collapse them.

Like others, I've used them purely as a temporary fox seat. They're okay, they do the job, but they are prone to rust. I suppose you could say, they have their uses.

I have one but not used it for while. Works OK but find it small and cramped and I am not a large guy!
As for rust, well they could as some parts are steel around the seat itself. Ladder is aluminium.

Can’t speak about this specific model but they are all fairly much the same, I guess.
Portable, yes, but a bit of a pain.
My one, it looked like any pressure on the bolts and they would break. So I replaced them with bigger ones.
My one, uncomfortable and when you leant back, the bar would move because you are attaching around the pivot point. I overcame this by bolting another bar from the rifle rest to the seat, made it a much more stable platform.
Not something you want to leave out for too long, keep an eye out for rust on it.

My one, It is portable and flawed. It can do a job. But, I would be looking at other options now, if I was spending money.

I have one. Uncomfortable to sit, awkward to take down if it’s been up for any length of time. If it hadn’t been a gift I’d have sent it back.

OK……generally negative feedback. We were only thinking of using it in a non permanent way. So, any better recommendations for a demountable seat?
