Temu Hardax

Yep I bought one too but only tried with triple deuce so far - hardly a mark apart from the splash.

The secret seems to be to hang the plate so that it can “recoil” and absorb the bullet strike. If it is fixed solid then you might see a different result…

Temu “Hardox” plate - as per earlier post it survived the .222 and Hornady Vmax at just on 3,000 fps, plenty of splash but no damage. Today was big boys stuff - .308 Sierra 125gns Prohunters trundling along at 2,950 fps. For interest - I hung the plate on chains from a bodged stand so that it could absorb some of the c.2.5k ft lbs of (muzzle) energy.
The plate took 3 hits in succession at 140 yards with no obvious damage except a mildly endearing little dimple on one only: no obvious signs of the hits on the reverse. The lower double strike was from the triple deuce. Before some Einstein says it the plate was hung in longish grass and when I went the said 140 yards away some of it (lhs) was obscured by some stalks rather than trundle all the way back I shot what I could see.IMG_6167.jpeg
Soooo, for only £23 delivered and based on 3 hits from the .308 I would be happy to recommend the plate for most centrefire target practice - others may try this at shorter ranges and get different results but why bother says I?

PS
I think I need a bigger and stronger stand…….

My hardox fox target has a dent on the front and a small nipple on the back from the same shot form a 22.250 at 100yrds. I think its more speed than weight that causes damage. I have shot the target with my 7prc and doesn't cause any damage but does knock it over.

the type of hardox has a bearing on the amount of damage it sustains i had a piece of 450 hung from a fence 22-250 with 55gr soft point at one hundred yards looked like it had been drilled swirl markes visible but 60gr vmax just spatered on the front

I've just ordered a plate using the Temu app'.

Somehow, I've also ended up buying a fluffy pink reversible dressing gown (for the wife, I hasten to add) a magnetic car cover, and model of a jet turbine engine.

I have no idea how any of the above happened 🤔

You dont have to justify a pink dressing gown...creedmoor owners are allowed on the forum so enough said
