And your UK passport or are you doing a Salmond and ignoring the question and hoping it goes away(Will be a good backup though when your Scottish kids are on the TV saying they have no shoes and have to walk 5 miles to the burn to collect fresh water please donate £3 a week)

How ignorant.

Correct - there's been an estate up for sale recently in the Highlands.
It covered roughly 22k acres a number of farms, wind turbines with a number in the planning process, mini hydro stations with a number in the planning process.
Total value including the sporting rights was circa £11m but guaranteed income before any work done was £600k pa. Who needs loads of cash - set up a business case and banks would be falling over you to lend you the money.
Yet that £600k is incentives that the tax payer and energy user is subsidising and that is for one estate - how many more are there out there like this

"..it covered roughly 22k acres..." The Land Reform Review Group proposals for "social justice" may have other ideas about that.....

http://www.scotland.gov.uk/About/Review/land-reform

Section 34, Recommendations:
Part Two Section 6 Succession Law
"The Review Group recommends that the Scottish Government should, in the interests of social justice, develop proposals in consultation with the Scottish Law Commission for legislation to end the distinction between immoveable and moveable property in Scotland's laws of succession"

I am not a lawyer and don't know anything about Scotland's laws of succession. I suspect this means that the principle of inheriting land will be ended. Would anyone with specialist knowledge please enlighten the forum?

Section 8 Compulsory Purchase
"The review group recommends that the Scottish Government and local authorities should have a right to register a statutory right of pre-emption over land, where that is in the public interest."

And who do we think would decide "where that is in the public interest"?

Section 24 Pattern of Rural Land Ownership
29: "The Review Group considers that there should be an upper limit on the total amount of land in Scotland that can be held by a private owner or single beneficial interest. The Group recommends that the Scottish Government should develop proposals to establish such a limit in law.

"establish such a limit in law": 10k acres? 100 acres? 0.25 acres?

This document clears the way for land grabs on the scale of Spanish municipal authorities or Robert Mugabe and his War Veterans.

Welcome to the People's Democratic Socialist Republic Utopia of Alex and company.

I am scottish. Not a jock. If I need to hand in my drivers licence and replace it. With a scottish one . Then so be it. ( why do no voters try to push the idea that yes voters are thick ).

Can you still hang people for burning the Union Jack?

Used to live in a flat in Gibraltar, one of the lads had a joke Scottish passport with all the usual stamps, loch lomond, ben nevis etc. He used it to get into Gib and got the immigration stamps, fantastic talking point but useless.

Good luck tomorrow, I hope you get a resounding majority one way or another.

Slainte.
