Thermal Monocular Decision?

I leave my pulsar XMS30 (or whatever its called, the names are hopeless) charging the whole time. So when the weather is good and I have a window, I grab it and go stalking. It hasn't seemed to cause the battery any harm so far.

Another vote for Hikmicro I have recently got the Condor CQ35 and it is incredibly good tech compared to earlier generations stuff of friends I have used. Genuinely a notch above my best expectations.

I’ve had two Pulsar Monoculars that have been brilliant. batteries have lasted all evening and that’s really important to me.

Having just invested in a pair of HIK Habroks I say…..buy Multispectral binoculars instead - one tool to do all the jobs. Thermal, Day, Night IR and LRF in one package.
Stalked with them for the first time on Monday and what an absolute delight to use. Glassing in thermal mode, is so natural using both eyes. Quick switch to Day and zoom to ID if needed.
Another push and you have a range.
Game changers!

Ii nearly bought those but want to keep night vision in right for scope at dusk, so a monocular suits me better, for night time shooting, yes the binos. However the tech now is incredible, literally changes your view of the world!

Fair enough - the thermal in the Habrok is the same as the Condor CQ35L - and it is amazing so I’d say….get yourself. Condor.

What is the cheapest thermal people think is worthwhile. Something good enough that you can tell there is a deer in the wood, even if you can’t tell much about it.

Exactly what I have done - it’s absolutely brilliant so I imagine the Habroks are great. Spotting hares laid up I never would have seen and probably 3x the roe I would with binos. Just great even if you aren’t trying to shoot them! Made me change my stalking and get 10x56 binos. Scan with the thermal and get in close with binos. Pongo dog helping me scope 5 roe at home today.

Optics-trade.eu just released YouTube video from IWA2024 and guy from Pulsar stated that Axion XQ30 pro will be out in stores this april.
But they seems to be a little bit too optimistic sometimes.

Cheers
June we have been told, never know sometimes..

Telox XQ and XG arrive next week hopefully..

I thought the Habroks had the lower spec sensor but just seen that they do 2 models. One with a 640 sensor.

Like the idea of a spotter with a range finder. Currently got it the wrong way round, with the lrf on the HIK scope and a Pulsar non ranger spotter.
Thoughts on lrf spotters appreciated.
