Tikka T3 Trouble

Well I know Malcolm, I can tell you he left the site due to the postings by certain individuals, and the unwelcome comments they made. Having watched this site for some time as a guest I know that recent people like Bagpuss and Nemo were thrown off due to their unsavoury replies, as Admin pointed out to everyone.

I also know that Malcolm has not fallen out with Carl Gustaf, beowolf seems to be fishing, quite unsual for a new member like myself. Infact CG will be joining both malcolm and myself on the lease that malcolm manages in Scotland later this year.

What's all this kicked off the site stuff? Have I missed something somewhere along the line. I knew that a couple of troublemakers had been kicked off, but it's news to me if Malcolm and CG are, or have ever been trouble makers. Was hping to see them in the back end for a pint, when they are up stalking.

Rob is this true, have they gone?

Hi John

Malcolm and Carl got fed up (like the rest of us) with some of the posts left by certain visitors to the site. The offenders have now been removed although it's difficult to keep them off for good. One visitor managed to submit postings using 19 different IP addresses so it's different to keep a determined trouble maker off, but I can delete posts quicker than the idiot can type them!

I hope to see Malcolm and Carl back, perhaps under different names, to add their contribution to the forum.

No they resigned from the site in protest of the site wreckers. That was just before the trouble makers got the boot.

They are still about and pm'ing, they haven't gone anywhere just taking abreak is how CG put it to me.

Rob Mac are you saying that Malcolm and CG are amongst us under assumed names! What trickery is this? Some of the reasons for this could be.
The positives
1) This is an excellent site
2) The majority of posters are very friendly and helpful
3) It is difficult to give up on someting that can quickly become part of your life. This is after all the only time many of us can get together with like minded people and talk about our collective passion.

The negatives
1) Idiots turn up all the time on the site and there are plenty of them wanting nothing more than to destroy what other people have.
2) Members who challenge these trolls often feel rather stupid about being drawn in to their games. Troll hunters can come away looking as foolish as the trolls they battle.
3) Its embarrassing having to put your toys back in the pram for the second time in a month.

I for one would like to see Malcolm back on the site. He is very generous with his knowledge and time and sets a good example to us less experienced stalkers. I hope to see him at the Leeds CLA for a few beers!

JAYB. I have just returned from Sussex with Malcolm, we have been instaling some new high seats on his lease. He has asked for you to PM me so I can pass on your phone number, as he has misplaced it.

Beowulf, I think you will find that the only toys malcolm has are big boys toys. May I refer you back to Rob Mac's posting of Friday the 6th. I would think that this explains it all, many others on here are tired of idiots, which on this site there seems to have been one or two gold medal heads.

I would say most on this site have challenged these people, I doubt if any of them has felt foolish, would you include Rob Mac in this? as it is he that threw them off the site twice, maybe three times, and according to his posting, one of them tried 19 times, how sad is that?

My apologises Sikamalc, either I have not put my opinion across very well or you have misunderstood my meaning. I have crossed swords with Bradley, 6.5x55, Nemo, Abob, Bagpuss and their like many times. Although admittedly not under this name.
Personally all that I came away with was the feeling that I had made a complete arse of myself and regretted arguing with people who lived only to get decent site members annoyed. This is their legacy, people jumping down each other throats at the slightest mis-understanding.

I have no arguement with you Sikamalc or your friend Malcolm. My pm to you will hopefully reassure you of my true identity and intent and will put this misunderstanding to rest.

Tikka T3

New(ish) to stalking and new to the site - stumbled across it whilst 'googling', but bookmarked it straight away.

Interested in seeing the comments re Tikka T3 - I recently bought a T3 Lite (.243) in stainless/synthetic, coupled with a Swarovski 4-12x50. I bought it as I wanted a reasonably priced rifle that I wouldn't cry into my cider over if I scraped the stock on barbed wire and that wouldn't rust before my eyes....

Obviously too early to say what the long-term assessment will be, but so far I like the light weight, and balance - although a moderator is planned and I'm a little concerned that this will throw that out a little (the weight was particularly appreciated during an unseasonably hot October day out after cull stags in the Lake District; I've sweated less playing a game of squash than I did on that day ). Using Winchester super-X p/point 100g I've taken 3 x cull stags on 2 separate outings that I'd booked (I don't have any stalking rights of my own, and wanted to increase my previously very limited experience).

I'm working my way around the other forum topics, so doubtless I'll find other things to discuss, query, and pass coment on! I make no apology for being a newcomer to the sport and this will doubtless be self-evident by some of the questions I ask, so thanks in advance for your patience and advice.
