My t3x varmint .308 was perfect feeding 150/165 sp factory loads.lt tripped up feed ing Nosler BT rounds that were longer than the sp ones by a small margin.l bought a 5 round m+ magazine from a forum member.
It has cured it 90%of the time.l get the odd round not quite tip up for the feed into the chamber,not lost me a deer yet ,but the potential for that could arise as the 10% l have to cycle back on the bolt a tiny amount.
Copper tsx homeloads have not been a major problem,in different weights so the tipped bullets may be avoided.

It is been tipped bullets that I’m using and did think they were a snug fit, I’ve ordered a 10 shot metal magazine so will see if that makes any difference

Won't make any difference since it won't fit (assuming it's OEM). Your rifle is set up for plastic single column mags. The mag you ordered is CTR mag, descendant of TRG mags (TRG mags work fine in CTR, but they did make changes to CTR mag so it won't fit TRG magwell). Plastic and CTR are not interchangable.

Like said previously in this thread, there are only 223 mags with metal lips, since the original plastic one wears out. AFAIK they still send plastic mag with new rifles, the steel lip is only aftermarket option although OEM.

Plastic OEM mags are kind of sloppy design, could be better (have more margin for error). But 308 family cartridges don't have (as bad) problem with wear than 223. CTR mags are not troublefree either.

There are also 3rd party stocks and bottom metals, that take AICS mag. And the Waters Rifleman metal mag that replaces factory plastic. There have been others too, don't know if still available.

Waters rifleman 10 shot metal magazine from Riflemags.co.uk solved the problem, we’ll worth the money also got the metal mag housing and trigger guard, for all the weight that’s in them would be better if they fitted them as standard.

I purchased a 223 T3 from here second hand and the first night I had it out it wouldn’t chamber a round unless I thumped the mag , it’s a varmint and was like brand new , my old T3 I sold to a mate and never ever had any issues with it but this rifle is pish with loading hassle and what I think is a sloppy bolt , I was nearly asking for my old one back . I’m a bit happier to read I’m not the only one with this problem and maybe the mag issue can be resolved but things like this should never happen . I should add that there was another mag came with the rifle and the bolt wouldn’t pick up from it either .

Metal mag certainly fixed my problem, hopefully you get yours fixed.

Was the only one they had in stock will probably get a 5shot one when there back in stock, just wanted to see if it cured the problem before I sent the rifle back.

10 is to much for me so I’ll order a 5 or near to . It’s only for foxes so that’s plenty .

For 223 you can have steel lipped OEM mag, no need to go for Waters Rifleman. Cannot advice where to order in UK, though.

Don't have 223 T3(x) personally, but all reports I've read about the steel lipped OEM mag (replacement for full plastic OEM mag) have been positive.

Fair enough, I was going to say - 10 rounds! are you expecting a firefight? Tikka Performance / mountain tactical also make metal magazines for the T3 which I can say from first hand experience are very good. They will fit a normal T3 mag well.
