Pine martens had a bashing today! I voted for brexit and i would have voted for trump. sometimes you better off have someone who is openly foolish rather than some one who is shady, twisted and conniving.
I think the problem with pine martens politics is that not everyone is as moderate and mild mannered as he is.

I suppose I find it sad that out of 300 million people in the USA - these are the best that came to the fore...... I'm not saying our lot are any better (think Farage and Corbin), but it's a shame that we can't produce politicians who have charisma, leadership, common sense and can stand for election knowing there won't be any skeletons in the cupboard. Maybe I understand why honest people avoid politics as I get older.....

Pine Martin is awesome and certainly doesn't deserve any kind of bashing... He is also undisputed king of the BBQ!!

My granddad always told me to never argue about politics or religion, too emotive and too polarising. Everyone has an opinion and wont be swayed... and he was right.

Nothing wrong with moderate liberalism, indeed we need moderate liberals in society to temper the more acutely leaning among us. I do, however, feel that moderate liberalism has left its historical moderating territory and become more pervasive and influencing... bit like a tail trying to wag a dog!

I blame moderate liberalism for a lot of the social problems we see today, wet ineffective punishments for criminals, witch hunts for celebrities, an overly (one way) PC world where one is terrified to say or do something something in fear of being branded a racist or worse..

It's all gone a little too far and Trump may be just what we need to restore the SENSIBLE status quo in the western world...

One late addition - this was Julian Aange's and Wikileaks's election as much as it was Trump's. The lifted the lid off the septic tank and proved the rank corruption and collusion between the Democrats and the Media. We always suspected such collusion but it was stunning to see it so openly.
