Two for One

Done it twice, seen it done a few times.

Did it once with springbok, which are usually in big, nervous herds. Took a heart shot with a .270. Lost sight picture for a moment, people with me got very agitated because I’d apparently wounded a beast - badly haunch shot. Someone else in the culling team despatched that one. Drove forward, subject to much criticism. Very nearly drove over the carcass of the one I’d aimed at, stone dead with a clean shot where I’d aimed. Bullet had gone about 6 metres to the right after exiting the first beast.

Second time was roe. Took a head shot with a .222. Beast dropped to shot, and a second one about 3-4m left collapsed, hit in the neck.

I’ve seen it with springbok, fallow and sika.
