Tyre recommendations

I use my Hilux on road a lot, but also in varied agricultural ground, and properly off the road in wet mushy moor stuff. Never been stuck (yet). It's all about having light loafers on the throttle .
As to wear, think mine have done 25k+, and just been through MoT with no mention of "ye'll be needin' new beets afore lang".

Got BGF KO3 on my Disco but only because I blagged a set of 4 brand new tyres on rims from a guy who’d bought a D2 to use on an air rifle permission that never came about - paid £400 for the set! I keep thinking I need a set of MTs for the winter but then I manage fine with the ATs combined with sensible driving style.

Have had Geolander on a FL2 & they’re very good, friends boss has Falken AT3 on a Disco Sport & he gets everywhere anyone in a proper truck does on the shoot. Stalking mate has Grabber AT3s on a Ranger & manages fine with them.

You pays your money & takes your choice I think tbh.

Just put a set of GG AT³s on my Ranger from Conti Cross Contact LX. On road fuel consumption has gone down a bit! I've not tried them properly off road yet but being my third set on 3 different pickups I am expecting them to be good enough for my use, woodland rides and muddy field margins. The Continentals were almost good enough with 4wd.
I'm very happy with the road handling and noise.

General Grabber AT3's

Minimal.impact upon road noise and mpg.

.......as an aside, I got about 48,000 miles out of my last set of GG AT3's, so the cost per mile metric stacks up pretty well too

BFG all terrain, decent off road hardwearing for road use.

Awful things. Times moved on, plenty about now which are far better than the BFG. Wet performance really let's them down!
