This song; or rather the line "we'll eat meat & mashed potatoes, cut our hair so folk don't hate us", has stuck in my head for some 50-years and until today I could never establish who it was by. Still not convinced the version I heard coming from a London record shop doorway back in the 70's was this one but its certainly the original:
