Vodafone are anti's!

Hi all,

Had to get a contract with Vodafone recently due to work, need 4G and they are the only good providers in the area.

Very suspicious as they immediately implemented a 'SecureNet' feature, which is free for the first 3 months then they make you pay £1 a month for it without telling you specifically (just a 'we have given you a free trial period notice').

As soon as 4G was available I looked up a few legitimate hunting/fishing/shooting sites. All blocked under 'Adult Content'.

Went through the faff of turning it off, only to be presented with another blocked message. Vodafone has age restricted these pages as they are considered to be 'Adult Content', please sign in to our app and send us your card details to unblock.

Gone through all the hoops (and checked it was legit), only to be told that their system is down and cannot process these requests to turn off age restrictions at the moment.

Call their customer service, all our employees are busy and cannot take you call, try again another time.

They have me over a barrel here (only reliable provider and 24 month contract), but I really would not recommend that anyone switch to them as their company policy is overbearing and very evidently anti field sports.

There customer service is abysmal too....they failed to provide my broadband as they couldn’t/wouldn’t fix a fault on the line. They cancelled my contact when I threatened taking them to the ombudsman. A few months later I’d got a black mark on my credit file that they put on...apparently I’d failed to pay a bill! A few months later, several hours on the phone and many letters I got it taken off. Never again.

Same with O2, quite a while ago I complained to them and raised my concerns with (shhh BASC) and got a fairly waffling response from both. I think they DID subsequently derestrict some shooting sites.

I am in the middle of fighting these cu**s, I left them in June, went to another provider, they made the process as fu**ed up & painful as they could,I ended up halfway through with a "Split service", my phone would take calls in from my new provider, but I wasn't able to call out as Vodaphone had not completed their side of the deal, many on line "Chats" with idiots of foreign extraction later, I am still getting demands for payment for my I pad, currently in the hundreds, I think maybe the latest request from me for an "Itemised account statement" may have finally gotten thru their thick skulls, just waiting for it now, or perhaps I might see the bailiffs come knocking?

Ive had the same issue on numerous occasions And have to go through the hassle of getting it removed.

When I upgraded with EE for some reason they put an age limit on my broadband, I phone them, the phone was answered by a young lady with an Irish accent, I told her what the problem was she asked for my password which I told her, not a problem she said I have removed the lock and checked your system and its fine.

But I have been with Orange and then EE since 1986.

Email them, detailing that.
Tell them as thry csnnit assist during covid you will assume trual period to be frozen until normal service is resumed & concerns csn be addressed. In the avent they are unable to restore full access then you will accept this as mutual termination of contract as you are paying full price for full use, not resticted use at a reduced fee.

I'm with 3 & a Top Shelf bar was put in place that required me to varufy age then all wax good again

Vodafone are a nightmare had some serious problems with them recently , very difficult to get to speak to anyone
and when you do you get a cock and bull story.

Ok so you’ve taken out a contract with Vodafone.
Thought you had to be 18 to have a legal and binding financial contract?
If this is the case then how can they say it’s age restricted?

Their management evidently takes a paternalistic approach.

'Are you sure you want to look at that?'

'Really really really sure?'

'If so, please give us more of your personal information which we already have on our system.'

Then they had the cheek to remind me when my first bill would be coming in...

can you explain to the technically challenged (me)

What a VPN is and how to get it?

j

Virtual Private Network

This is something you see people shilling for on Youtube (NordVPN etc.), basically a subscription service that lets you channel your data through another server.

Plain English version: You can see stuff that is usually region locked, i.e use BBC IPlayer outside of the UK or Google/Facebook in China. Hides your IP Address too.
