Warble large in roe?

Sure, help yourself. The prion concerned requires a copper molecule for normal function, but uptake of this is prevented by OP use, and instead a manganese molecule takes its place; unfortunately, this results not in the re absorption of the prion at the end of its cycle, but rather its uncontrolled replication, eventually resulting in spongiform encephalopathy. OP being a residual poison, it gets dealt with by becoming encapsulated in the fatty tissues of the animal, including he brain and the spinal cord; the EU legislators deemed it acceptable to lower the temperature and time at which such mechanically and chemically recovered material had to be ‘cooked’ at to render 🤔 it safe to be incorporated into bovine foodstuffs (greedy recycling gone wrong) to be fed to the next unsuspecting animal, and thus increasing the overall level of toxin within the body of the animal, to a point where the fun begun, the rest we know of course.

Need to know anything about ivermectin too, or do you still believe in mRNA injections? Even Fauci is back pedalling now.
There was a rather shady cover up at the time I seem to remember, involving a West Country farmer who discovered a link between OP pour ons & BSE, denied by Bayer & the government. Allegations of phone tapping & being followed by cars, threats being made. Cant remember the exact details now, its too long ago. Edit:found it. https://mathteacherforhomeschool.co...-farmer-mark-purdey-on-organophosphates-2001/

Mark Purdey. An interesting man for sure. The Telegraph reports that an ancestor of his reportedly walked from Inverness to London to set up Purdey's gunsmiths, and that, after suffering shell shock during the First World War, his grandfather, Lionel Purdey, lobbied Lord Kitchener to recognise shell shock as an illness that needed treatment

ISTR he styled himself ‘Purdy’ no ’e’, and that he met his maker somewhat earlier than otherwise may have been considered appropriate, toward the latter part of the media blow-up.

Reading the article post #42 brought back memories of using derris compound and a stiff brush to treat warbles in cattle about 50 years ago.

Happy days

Shot a doe and a follower in the same area and the doe was clean, skinned the follower and found an infestation of warble larve - very unusual in roe here and the first time I have seen it - seen it on reds but never roe and odd that both were in the same area yet only one effected…really off putting, oddly enough it had diarrhoea as well but was not behaving oddly and the nodes were clear but I did not want to risk it so disposed of the carcass.

Hi
Never seen them in roe until I moved up to the North of Scotland.
Over the last few years I have had a fair few.
And as you say . They all seem to be from the same area.
Strange one
Regards Willie

I stumbled back on this thread and picked up on the BSE, copper and Organophosphate comments. So I checked on the current thinking on prion structure - can't find any mention of copper except a paper from1997 mentioning that copper can bind to one end of the normal prion protein. More recent texts don't mention it and are still uncertain exactly how normal prions go to pathogenic prions. I also can't find any references to copper being blocked by OPs - copper promotes OP breakdown based on the use of copper and OP sprays in orchards. OP pour-ons haven't been used in the UK for many years and the treatment now would be one of the macrocyclic lactone group. An example of ivermectin working as it was intended...

Had one last year here in montrose and was a single well developed / big larvae ….
Only time I’ve seen one in roe

Paul

if the climate change zealots have their way we will all be eating bugs like these not the hosts animals anyway.
I guess that’s progress.
Changing the weather by eating insects? Now that’s clever.
