If what you want are your firearms back and you are in the clear I would suggest forgetting about suing anyone for now and try to set up a meeting with them. If there has been some confusion with them then I suspect you are more likely to get through it by holding a sensible conversation with them rather than by suing them. Ultimately you have that option in the end. Bearing in mind that it is up to the Chief Constable to decide if you are a "fit" character then I'm guessing accusing them of all sorts and then suing them may not be very persuasive from his point of view. We have no right to hold arms it is a priveledge and like it or lump it it is one that is extended by the Police.
...any singes of aggression or anger even if they are in the wrong when they take your guns and your stuffed!!!
