Never cleaned warthog tusks, but I've had a couple from boar. All I did was give them a good (but gentle) scrub in washing up liquid and warm water, then filled the cavity with clear silicon once they were completely dry
I guess you could use peroxide if you wanted to get them pearly white? (or Colgate? )
No disrespect to the previous poster, but I wouldn't use caustic soda on the tusks. It will damage the enamel on the teeth.
Warm soapy water and a nail brush should do the job. Bleaching them is also not advisable as this will take away any natural colour. Filling them afterwards with silicone is fine.
