"Well where did you last see them?"

Perhaps the most unhelpful response ever to the question:-

"I don't suppose you have seen my binoculars have you?"

This is the problem when you change any part of your regime.

The Landy is emptied and at the Landy Doctors. Consequently, nothing is where it is meant to be.

Looking to go out into morning, and I am travelling light as it all needs to fit in my wife's car (which under no circumstances is to go 'off road').

Packing everyone into the Vorn, and a small plastic box...

I cannot for the love of me, find the bins.

I was out last week, and I took a Roe Doe - carried her back to the Landy, and gralloched her off the back the truck.

I know I will have put the Vorn and 'stuff' down to do so; have I left the binoculars there?

If I have - are they still going to be there in the morning?

I have no wheels until this evening, and it will be too dark to search by then.

Suck it up buttercup.

Let's see what the morning brings...😖

I cannot be the only one?

I cannot be the only one?

So long as they weren't left on top of the Landy.....

BTW you're not the only one - whilst I've not left my binos (yet) I have left my stalking bag at the base of the tree where I did the gralloch. Returned the next week and it was still there. I've also left the wire loop that I used to suspend the ratchet strap from when gralloching on various trees across the Estate. Inevitably it is also there when I return.

I am beginning to think I should attach them on long bits of elastic threaded through the arms of my stalking coat....

They do have my name and address in them.

I know a dishonest person would take no heed of that, but if they are lost, and an honest person finds them, then at least they know where the idiot that lost them lives...

I will (of course) return to the 'scene of the crime' tomorrow and have a grub about.

Did that with my phone. Worst thing was, I was talking to someone via the car but thinking phone in my coat in back. then all of a sudden it cut out. It's always running out of battery, it'll be that thinks I. Nope.

Stupid eh??

No.... stupid was the second time I did it!!!! FFS!!

Don't take it badly.

I've now lost two...or is it three...mobile phones when they've dropped out of my waders whilst fishing.

My last Head of HR gave me an ultimatum - lose another phone, find a P45!

I lost a pair of Zeiss 8x??s that fitted well into my pocket, I can only assume they walked away while at the car doctor.

Preaching to the choir as far as I'm concerned. Personally, I can lose stuff while I'm actually using it 😳
I left a pair of nv monoculars on top of a gate post while out foxing plus earlier on this year I left a step up out in the field
Both of which I recovered later

brand new bought for the trip fallkniven hunting knife on a swedish hunting stand. I shot a decent moose and in the excitement left my knife hanging on a hook in the stand after using it to cut up my lunch.
Standard honest swedish behaviour they offered to send it back to the uk for me, it seemed the least i could do to let them keep it!

Finest decision:thumb::tiphat:!.

Left a camera on top of the car a good few years back when I was packing up after a fishing trip.....

Thankfully the local farmer had gone by and picked it up later - go it back on a return visit, thankfully in a case so no damage.
Now have a metal checklist for equipment for stalks/fishing trips and the boss still gets me to double check everything.....
