I am at the show today. Only because I was helping out
I wanted a scope and rings for a air rifle. No chance. Oxford gun company only gun trader there.
Just a country show now. plenty of pikeys about.

Thank you. Thank you very much for sharing that. It has saved me and I think many others of a wasted day and wasted money. I am sorry it was such a disappointing Saturday but by sharing you have saved others, at least anyway, suffering that same disappointment. Thank you. Last...LOL...were you able to acquire any "Bohemian clothing"?

Went to the show today, won’t go again. It was overpriced, very little ‘proper’ gear on sale, not very big and scuffles were breaking out by mid-morning. One trader looked like he had a pint thrown over him and things were kicking off! I overheard a couple of bobbies saying that it had been a busy day and it was only 11am!

I did manage to get my hands on a few thermals on the one stand that sold them but the poor guy seemed so paranoid that his demo stuff would get nicked that I couldn’t get 5 minutes of his time. Ended up just walking off and leaving them to it. Definitely the worst show I have ever been to. The Stalking Show will be the only one in my calendar for next year

Went to the Midland GF a couple of times. It would be about £100 in road fuel nowadays for me.

i used to look forward all year to mgf weston park, it was easy to get to, easy to get in, you could park anywhere, it had everything a shooter or a fisherman wanted, you could leave your motor unattended, then one year i arrived and their was a fairground people selling shite, and worst of all the pikey,s started to turn up in there droves for a robbing and **** fests, last time i went i was there 30 minutes and came home, that was 16 years ago never been since its a shame that something so good turned out a shambles bs.

All of these shows are going the same way. The Cambridge Country Show, a sort of successor to the much loved Fenland Fair, but under new management, was pretty short on our field sports interests. A shooting friend who does a few shows with vintage vehicles packed up and came home after the first day due to too many light-fingered and disrespectful folk (his precise language was a little stronger).

I went to the last midland pre covid. It was awful. It used to be my go to show.
Under new management?? I thought it was now run by one of the old guard...a mate of Harford? Or am i wrong.
Anyway it seems like a pikey fest now. Pity but thats progress for you. Not...

I went Saturday against my better judgement but the daughters/grandkids were going. Wish I hadn't bothered as was the worst show I have been to. There were more pikeys than at Appleby horse fair. A few cops following them around every time they went to the knife store. I can't see this show being around long.
