What size group at 25m with 10/22 ?

If it has the basic stock on it take the barrel band off it make a big difference.
My 10/22 is fairly accurate up to 100 yards now but is an old one with the trigger and bolt stop upgrade and in a houge stock . Everything else is factory 🙄🤣

I purchased a ruger 22 in takedown style to use as a gallery rifle, it was disgustingly in - accurate it was terrible would jam up on any occasion 🥺, in the end I used it purely for VERY CLOSE HD only thing it was fit for BUT a friend of mine had his one tweaked and a serious makeover, new barrel, new trigger etc etc and it was a nail tacker
As said previously I think they need that overhaul to make them any good

When shooting the 1022 have somebody on standby with a bolt action. Tich. Tich. Tich. Tich..thump. First three shots are the 1022 last shot will be a headshot from the bolt action as the rabbit has hopped, skipped and jumped about the warren then pops his head up for one last glance.

I have great memories as a child shooting rabbits with my dad and a 10/22, so much so when I got my fac/sgc a 10/22 was top priority!

Got to try one out before I committed,,,, I ended up with a p94s and wouldn't look at a 10/22 again 😂

I've owned 2 10/22s.
Still got one in NZ.
Neither of them could group.
1"+ at 25m with the Ruger 10/22 and 0.5" average with my 47 year old BRNO No2.
I remember getting the Brownells Catalogue when I was gunsmithing, it had a huge range of aftermarket parts for the 10/22 - SS Recievers, precision bolts, new screw in barrels, new trigger groups and fancy stocks.
They are bit like the Rem 700, you buy one and then gradually 'improve' it until only the sling remains of the original rifle.
Having said all that I love them as a short range rabbit rifle and plinker.
