Whilst the ever popular stalking scopes ( fixed 6 to 8 mag scopes ) might be perfect for deer shooting and general foxing. There are far better scopes on the market, if small vermin such as crows + magpies are on the menu at 300 yrds.
Yes it can be done, and no doubt the some on here will tell you they do it successfully - but why make it any more difficult than it needs to be?
Bushnell do some decent glass - the Legend 4-14 is a belter for little money - Also the 4200 and 6500 range offer good optics at value. I have used an MTC scope and it suffered horribly from white out - and it was looking down a bog roll. Fortunately it wasn't mine. Maybe some MTC models are better than others ?
Personally, I would go for a used Zeiss conquest either the 4-14 or 5 -20 x 50 model - yes more expensive but a better scope.
