It’s really not that dissimilar Connor you really are clutching at straws now aren’t you ? Read the results of said poll and you will see the level of dissatisfaction
That's only the beginning of disentangling this sorry mess of your own making. Why is the title of the thread different to the title of the poll? Was that intentional or in error and which version had you intended to the poll question?

Its basically the same question, who cares .

Please start a poll and ask a different question if you like its entire up to you sir , that being said I talk to a lot of shooting folks not just deerstalkers and the feeling is pretty much the same
Look, you can do a poll on absolutely anything that goes "would you prefer for things to carry on the same as before and be cheap and easy or require a change of behaviour and expenditure?" and you will always get the same answer.

Now the talking to people is valuable and its how you design a poll that has meaningful results. Essentially you have the toddler conversation and ask "why? Why? Why?" until people tell you. THEN you ask the questions in those terms to a larger sample for a poll.

But this is the wrong sample and the wrong context.

If I may turn the line of questioning around on @Chris Richardson
Can I ask a few questions because in all the evading questions and repeating I don't actually understand what your viewpoint is.

1) What disciplines of shooting do you do with a rough numbers of shots and heads of game taken each year?

2) Have you tried Non-Lead Rifle ammunition, if so what did you try, how many did you try and how did you find it?

3) Have you tried Non-Lead Shotgun ammunition, if so what did you try, how many did you try and how did you find it?

4) Why are you so against accepting the Lead Ban is a reality/getting on with finding alternatives to future proof your shooting, is this purely an objection to being told what to do?

5) If this issue with the Lead Ban relates to performance of the available Non-Lead products, can you highlight under what circumstances/disciplines you feel it fails to meet your needs?

6) Why do you feel BASC are the culprits in this Lead Ban, as a pose to any of the other shooting organisations?

7) What would you have liked BASC to do differently (specifics) in the case of the Lead Ban which would have won your faith in them?

Apologies if you have answered these previously anywhere, but there are so many pages of this now that it would prove pretty difficult to find so just easier to ask.

My apologies for the late reply was a late night last night and an early start today ( hate this time of year 🙄)
In answer I probably shoot around 80 deer a year ( mainly smaller species with a smattering of fallow ) 30 ish foxes
A couple hundred rabbits and hares ( hares are a bigger problem)
Game shoot 15 -20 days a season ( I have my own small walked up shoot too )
A few days on pigeons and a bit of wild fowling ( which I love )
I’ve used non lead ammo obviously on wildfowl, I don’t think it’s as effective as lead and I’ve tried steel on pheasants and partridges again it doesn’t seem to kill as well as lead .
As for copper rifle ammo yes I’ve tried it especially on the smaller species ( I believe it was barnes ) they didn’t expand much which for boiler room shots isn’t ideal , I also had a fallow doe run on far too long after a well placed chest shot , the fact is it doesn’t work as well as lead .
I personally believe that in order to have a ban there should be irrefutable evidence that lead is causing illness in humans consuming game , there isn’t , nobody can find me that which for me raises questions about the claims it does .
In my opinion Basc claims to be the “ voice of shooting “ yet has let everyone down in this respect the u turn from no evidence no change to “ voluntary ban “ is mind blowing.
I also believe lack of consultation with members is disgraceful ( hence why I left ) I believe consultation would’ve left members feeling at least appreciated and listened to , bascs claim that people are happy with thier performance on this issue simply aren’t true but in the interest of fairness I’ll post this …. Scroll down to the comments , GWCT response to government announcement on a lead shot ban - Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust

Isnt this thread just going round and round in circles stemming from a poorly worded poll?
Maybe just set another poll up with the two separate matters standing on their own merits?
At least there can then be a worthwhile discussion
Nothing wrong with the poll, its a bit like referendums, the losing side stamp their petulant little feet and whinge like mad on how unfair it is and how it doesn't represent the majority view, when in reality it does. And then want a rerun!

Perhaps that's why your poll only has 118 votes out of 30,000+ SD members...... :-|:lol::lol::lol:

However that as been the attitude of many who shoot over many years, preferring not to get involved hopping it will not happen or feeling that it is a done deal with government just doing a tick in box exercise to look like they consulted.
We lost so why vote will not change the outcome.

look how very few who own firearms responded to the hse consultation on lead.

So not surprised the SD poll has so few votes, however field sports channel was same outcome.
