WILSON WILSON FIELDSPORTS , IN MEMORY OF PETER WILSON

Good afternoon all of you, I stumbled across this in the early hours this morning when I couldn't sleep. It was a lovely thing to read, and yes, quite a surprise too! As you can see by my user name I am Jo, Peter's daughter that works in the shop, he always referred to me as "The Girl". I have passed on this page to my Mum and his other Daughter and his brother who have been very touched by your comments, as indeed I have been. Dad would have smiled.
As many of you know, I took the decision to adhere to lockdown on 19th December as click and collect is not easy in our shop, and I wanted to ensure Peter and Paul were safe working above all. We will reopen when we can, and then all your unusual calibres will be looked after.
Thank you all

Hi Jo

Firstly, deepest condolences to you & all the family. Thank you for the kind words at this sad time. I’m sure I’m not alone in being pleased that you’re going to carry on with the business when times are safer & more convenient. Once again deepest condolences.

I felt I had to let you know from the horses mouth rather than speculation. And thank you

Again my deepest condolences. I am sure RG will sort things out he is a good man too. I will miss your dads smile. Look forward to dropping in soon, once we are allowed to.

Only just seen this thread and I am really sorry to hear of the very sad loss of Peter to this awful disease. I haven't been into the shop for a fair while, but had previously bought pretty much all my reloading gear from Peter. I always found him very knowledgeable, very fair and a true gent. I distinctly remember asking him once why some of the same reloading stuff had different prices on. He replied that the lower price articles were older stock and that he didn't believe in putting the prices up for newer stock when the suppliers raised their prices. How many retailers these days have principles like that?
I feel the world is definitely a poorer place with your passing - RIP Peter.

Dear Dodder, yes its true, he only priced stock as things came in and never upped the price of existing stock.
Thank you for your lovely words.
Jo
