Horses for courses for me. I shoot competitive clays, and my go-to sporter is a 1997 Beretta 682 Gold (not the later, lighter E version!!) It just feels right, multichoke 31" barrels. It's showing its age, but I can't see a reason to change it.
Next is a 20 bore Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon. I bought it with a cash legacy when my Dad died in 1999, and between us we've shot a lot of game. It's a 28" fixed 1/4 and 1/2, and a joy to carry. The stock has been swapped after it was knocked off the back seat of my car by a passenger many years ago, but the gun will never be replaced.
For early season partridge I have a Yildiz side x side .410. Cost buttons, but is a fantastic little thing to shoot.
I've just joined a pheasant syndicate with some good tall birds, and so will be trying some heftier shells in the 20. I don't think I'll be under-gunned, but it would might be a good excuse to treat myself to a 12g game gun.
