I've have a NX8 FFP MILXT on my stalking rifle as I was using it for everything but now I Have a dedicated PRS rifle I'm considering something more stalking orientated as it is busy in last light when illuminated

I'll be using it over the next month to give it a go at very last light before jumping ship but wonder if those in the know can help after spending some time trawling the web

Been looking at the zeiss v6 2.5-15x56, Schmidt exos and swaro z6i 2.5-15x56

Ive moved over to mil so that will help as they all seem to be mil and I want adjustable/ballistic turrets which they all seem to have as an option but as they seem to be CW vs CCW that I am used to and will continue to be on my other rifles will this be a mistake and lead to dialing errors running both

Any other advice 're the different ballistic turrets they come with??

Or i could just swap for a simpler reticle nx8 in mil/SFP to keep all turrets the same for the sake of 10/15 extra minutes

Keep it simple, stick to what you know, nothing worse than dialling in elevation or wind & finding you've gone the wrong way on the target 🙄

As for shooting at last light, just get a 4 or 4A reticule & don't mess with illumination - you want to see your quarry centred in the reticule not have to worry about putting a red dot or fine red cross in the right place.

Just my advice, I'm sure others will be along with their take as well.

Best scope at last light, Schmidt and Bender Polar T96 !

Is in Milrad and the BDC turret is zero stop, so i doubt you can turn it CCW

I used a Schmidt and bender 8x56 for quite a few years. Now got a klassic 3-12x50 illuminated. I’ve got a mixture of woodland and open ground and find the illuminated reticle handy in the woods at very first light. The 8x56 was clearer at the same times. But no good if you couldn’t make out the reticle (7 reticle I think. Like the 4 but slightly wider apart) I also find being able to turn it down in really thick woodland is quite useful. But to be honest it doesn’t really do anything the 8x56 does. And it’s normally left on 8 setting. All that being said probably the clearest scope I ever had to my eyes was a docter 8x56 illuminated. I often regret getting rid of it. But it didn’t feel as solid as the Schmidts either

Thanks for all the input chaps. Good shout 're zero stop preventing an error with dialing if using VS turrets

Only cos side of the polar t96 is the limited elevation so restricts its use for other things but certainly a fab scope otherwise

Can comment on the Schmidt it I have compared the V6 and Z6i side by side in low light and to my eyes the clear winner was the latter…

I also compared a Ziess Duralyt to the V6 and it was (to my eyes) clearer.

The Z6 is crystal clear and has a good turret system without too many twiddly bits!
