And the 6.5x55 doesn't half boom with that muzzle break. After firing that i am being swayed to the side of a 6.5 for my variation John.

Hello Muir,
Whereabouts were you living in NM?
I was based in Roswell for nearly three years in the early 90s, Abuerquerqe had a monster gun show as I will never forget, bought a .270 on a mauser 1908 from there (loved the sun and heat).
Marty

I've handled a Belgian made 303 Martini once when I worked at a large gunshop in New Mexico but have no idea as to its contractor. At the time I was buying military Martinis in .303 as I'd just become a .303 fanatic. Nice .222 rifle. We don't see those models at all here, in any caliber. Didn't you recently fine one in 22 Hornet?? ~Muir

PS: Let me know about the cocking piece. The barrel quip was to emphasize that parts are plentiful here. I have a Dutch someplace but can't remember where it's stored. I'd like to put one of the unissued carbine barrels on it. It would make a nice hunting outfit.

Marty: I lived in Albuquerque from 1980 to 1990. I worked for Ron Peterson Guns on Central Ave for much of that time and gunsmithed on my own after I built my own shop. Yes! They have a monster gun show -several actually. I liked the NM Gun Collectors Assn show the best. ~Muir
