Roe rut

Saw ‘nose to tail’ on Friday Morning up here in Aberdeenshire. Thought I might catch a glimpse of something special but they took off into the woods. Been very muggy and overcast up here the last week. That’s the only one I’ve seen though. Early I know but has to start somewhere.

I've had does to within 15 yards off a buttalo, but not one interested buck yet, although I have noticed that the big ones have started showing again after disappearing for the last few weeks!

The other night I had to go out back of 11 to investigate a motor that had skidded off the road through my fence. It had scarpered, but I could hear a doe just across the road calling away for some attention. As Chris says, been very hot and heavy up here of late, and a lot of following seen.

Buck chasing a doe last night about 9 pm. Long chases and some small circles, looks like it has started. P.S. Did not stop for a shot! Northumberland.
