Entry level single shot rifle

Tusker, I still have your old Baikal .308, it has an old Swarovski 4x scope on it now and is my cast bullet gun, 170grn flat nose gas check. The worlds worst trigger, but I like it! A genuine entry level single shot rifle, chrome lined, hammer forged barrel, what is not to like?

Yes, the Ruger No. 1 and Winchester 1885 actions are Hell-for-strong, and very good looking, too.

I wish I could get a Bergara BA13 over here.

This Henry break action is like a revival of the old Winchester and Stevens single shot rifles built on 20 gauge frames as farm guns, to stand behind the kitchen door. They came in .30-30 and .22 Hornet.

I have a Savage 219 in 30/30 , great little rifle . It weighs around 6 pounds , points well and is surprisingly accurate . I got it for next to nothing with a Weaver 1.5X4 power scope on it , one of the better deals I've ever made .

I tried to get a TC Encore prohunter in 308 about 7 years ago through Viking Arms, I think. Lovely short rifle, very pointable. Saw it on their stand at the Brit Shooting Show, and fell in love.
Unfortunately, despite me showing an awful lot of interest I never received any reponse from the importer, despite a number of attempts.
You can sometimes see one or two via Guntrader, usually in 22lr.
EABCO do replacement barrels. reasonable prices, if you can do the importation faff.
I had a Thompson Encore Prohunter in 223 cal. from Rimfire Magic. I managed to get a 243 barrel for it from USA.
Had the 223 barrel cut to 305mm and threaded. Also had a Pachmaher (Spelling?) set of pistol furniture for it.
Sold it to Jason from Essex, I think.
Ken.
PS. Barrels for Thompson single shot firearms are interchangeable, but the same does not apply to Bergara B13.
Hence the Bergaras have a number for both barrel and action.

The Bergara website does not even show the BA13 for the USA. So far, I have found no dealers, none for sale.

But the Bergara HQ for the USA is within driving distance of me ( I was only 70 miles from it it this weekend ), so I will call them.
I was able to order a Steyr Mannlicher in a configuration not in the US catalog, by directly contacting their HQ in Alabama, so it is worth the effort.

Your right about the trigger. Glad it's got a good home.

It'll be the CVA website you need to have a look at, Scout V2 specifically.

And don't forget the Ruger No1 is configured to be shot equally well by this those who in truth should be heading for the village ducking pond:
