So, 5 days ago a wrote into my local firearms authority requesting that my closed condition be lifted based on the some 600 acres of land I have authority upon in my county. They obliged much to my satisfaction. Upon receipt of my updated license papers I noted that the .22RF sound moderator which I own, has been left off the acquired section and has been reallocated to the authority section. Also, the 17 HMR and mod, which I sold recently and provided notification of, has not been replaced but instead deleted entirely. That said the authority to the 750 rounds has remained on the licence papers.
The .308 and mod, .223 and mod have been correctly designated
The result is:
I have a sound moderator but not according to my paper work.
I have the authority to acquire a sound moderator despite knowing this not to be correct
I have authority over HMR ammunition though I no longer have a slot for the rifle or mod.
Look, I know where I stand here, it simply means writing in to inform my local authority of the issues.
My question is, do you think it unlawful, not less illegal to procure ammunition for the firearms to which I know I have authority over? I.e the materials I need to reload .308 ammunition, tomorrow before sending the letter in notifying the local authority of the mistake?
I fear a long and laborious process may be ahead, of exchanges.
Many thanks in advance for your time reading. I appreciate any feedback.
