How many rounds to you take Stalking

Ok so how many round do you take when stalking?
I tend to carry 25, don’t know why but might be a thing from when I started out with air rifles, always a tin of 500 emptied in my pocket.....

I don't stalk but i'll carry 20 rounds, just incase a re zero is needed and still have enough for a good days...or nights sport on the foxes

My question is how many deer would you expect to shoot in an stalk..or have?

4 in the rifle, 4 in a cheek rest/ammo sleeve. Depends what you are going for... but you need to be lucky or very seriously unlucky to need more in an outing, I’d say.

I take 10 because my leather wallet takes 10.

That way, if I have an empty slot in the wallet, I've lost a case somewhere...

That advantage aside, 10 seems about right. The most rounds I've ever shot in a day is 4, so I needed 9 by the end of the day for a fully loaded mag.

Three in the mag and at least five more. I don’t have another way to cart them so it’s what’s in the box.

5 in the mag and 2 spare in the storage pockets on my sling. Working on the basis that if for some random reason I lost my mag I still had 2-3 rounds of ammo on me to shoot a deer or 3.

Not sure I could be bothered to extract 7 deer let alone 20-25 so each to their own but the rest of the box stays at home.

the most I’ve shot is 7 red deer took less than 3 minutes to shoot and 3 hours getting them sorted and back to the larder NEVER AGAIN!

Most for me is 5 deer for 5 shots. Normally is 1-2. Don’t see any world where I would want or need 20+ rounds kicking around in my pocket/bag etc....

I have five in the rifle and at least five on my person. I've shot four Roe in a very short space of time and three fallow in a minute. I normally only fire one round at one animal. I would hate to imagine being in the position where I needed another round to follow up and not having it.... It's no effort to carry a few more than you think you'll need.

The most I would want to shoot is two. I only shoot Roe at the moment. If there was a zombie apocalypse I might take more!

In seriousness, if I knocked the rifle taking it out of the 4x4 I might want to have a few rounds to check/re-zero. If I didn’t have enough it would be straight home.
