Overview of the Reloading Process - From Spent Case to Loaded Round

I made a couple of hundred cases ready to load,& put em' away somewhere's safe, they were so shiny I couldn't see em for the bright lights!, found em' today while rooting around in the depths of the gunroom.

Brilliant write up, couldn't have been done at a better time. Just put some thought into starting reloading over the weekend.
This may have been covered before, if so bear with me, what equipment is needed to start reloading??
Looking at adverts there are kits at £ 199 and kits at £ 399, as a beginner where do I start?

I've been reading the second volume of the Lee Reloading book and had started to lose the will a bit. This thread has got me right back on track - absolutely superb.

Thank you for spending the time on in CSL - It's a gift to us that keeps giving.

Thanks for that could not have come at a better time. I have been trawling over youtube for the past 3 days and just learnt more in 10 min.

my thought exactly, so I have a friend sending over a Lee Classic Loader from the States :D

I have just loaded the first batch of .243 using a Lee Classic Loader.

Have yet to test fire them, but the process was straight forward provided you followed the instructions and checked for accuracy at various stages.

CSL,this is an excellent post and gives you the confidence to start reloading yourself, cheers lee

Many thanks Alex

I am just about to start reloading, and along with your article and advice from friends, I feel less daunted.

Lee classic loaders are great fun, especially when you set off primers in your living room  I have to admit, unless the primer pocket has been cleaned out very well, you need to give the primers a very good whacking to seat flush, which now and again offers you a nice alternative to a shot of espresso!

As said in my intro returning to full bore rifle and stalking after a lengthy layoff, so I've been rediscovering all my old loading gear, press was worn out when it went into storage so just ordered a 'Ponsness Warren Metallic II' it's a bit of a shot in the dark (tusk tusk) ordered unseen but their other gear is all very good so hope this will be to.

Mortified that the drum in my powder measure must have been damp when bagged up so that's off to be recycled.

Interested to know what powder measures folks are using and what they recommend.

My case cleaner has been used over the years and occasionally at work for small components so not surprisingly the cleaning medium was a bit tired, being a cheapskate I put in a good scoop of Bar Keepers friend to pep it up a bit, don't do it! cases look like they have been sand blasted.

Mark.

That is better than the RCBS video

Thanks for sharing your expertise, just about starting to reload 6.5 x 55, that is a great clearly understandable piece of info.
