It's official from Ruger. Their 1st Marlin release is:

The SBL is a good seller , two friends of mine use them and really like them . Being a peon , I have a standard Guide Gun . I hope they bring back the 336 in 35 Rem , or , better yet , 38/55 . Any idea as to price ?

I had Guide Guns in all four 336 calibers 35 REM , 444 , 45-70 and 450 . Killed deer with all four which was no big deal . I actually had duplicates of all but the 450 and had them set up one of each with jacketed bullets and the other of each with cast bullets . Believe it or not they pretty much all knocked a deer ass over teacups more with the cast than they did with the jacketed .

I use 405 grain hard cast GC flat nose bullets in my 45/70 . I've found them to be very reliable killers over the years , and they're cheap , what's not to like .

Same here, duplicates of each so I designated some for cast and the others for jacketed & solids.

Don’t ask me why but I went a bit over the top casting for the 45-70 and 444 . In the 45-70 I cast up to and including a 550 gr GC in the 444 I went up to a 450 gr PB . BPR I think it was made a 462-465GC mold I really liked . I was also big on Tanch Dog designs for all the calibers they were made but especially the 45-70 and 444 usable molds . I went so far to make half a dozen or so more designs that were more or less a hybrid of the Ranch Dog with my ideas for the 444 I stopped with that design at 400 grains GC . Granted with these extra heavy for cartridge bullets you had to take extra practices to get them to feed cycle etc . But I killed deer with all five of the 400 grain designs I had . Never used the 450 or 550 grainers on deer but shot plenty paper .

That's how it comes apart from the stock bag it's threaded for a moderator but probably won't use that. it's called a marlin dark.

So it is . For some reason , the Dark series Marlins didn't get imported up here in any numbers , you don't see them very often . I posted a picture of an 1895SBL on here a while back . I had it ceracoated , but was pretty much stock . Either way , yours is a very nice rifle .
