20 practical and 7mm-08 would be my two choices, an FAC air rifle or 22lr would be a great third. Should cover all bases but depends entirely on where you are and what you want to achieve

I believe it is illegal to shoot foxes with an air rifle in the UK... even an Fac jobbie!
In the U.S. they use the 25 cal air bullet on feral hogs and Javalina/ Porkupines/ coyote etc
50 cal for larger animals,
Everything is illegal in the U.K. or soon will be?
30-30/38-55/45/70 etc etc need I say more.

Following on from a previous thread,
375h+h for rabbits and 505 gibbs for the rest. Or if in Scotland 300wm for rabbits

I use 223 and 6.5 yes a creedmoor.

Struggle to find the justification to myself for another calibre to be honest

I stand corrected then sir! Not that I'd like to use one on a fox unless it was about 15 yards away, even then I don't think I would.
Agreed. I certainly didn't request it & have no real desire to use it on fox. I think twice before using my HMR on Charlie.

One for rabbits and foxes?
And one for deer?

And finally, if you had to pick one rifle for everything? Thinking of a 6.5mm Creedmoor, thoughts?

Thanks in advance (from someone about to apply for FAC)!
For rabbit, 22lr.

For Fox only, and some deer 22/250.

For fox and all UK deer, 308.

Based on what is commonly available in gunshops and reloading components, not necessarily the perfect setup.

Lots of great calibres and choice for now, but you should consider ‘future proofing’ yourself?
Wild boar are on the increase in the uk. It’s not law (yet) but DEFRA suggest a minimum of .270.
You should also consider the move to non-toxic ammo which may make some of the smaller 6mm calibres ineffective and redundant.
