Anybody else ride motorcycles? Post them here.

Fcuk that for a game of soldiers, one tiny error from anyone and you could well be history.
I only had one accident along time ago (18) on a Thunderbird, it was my own fault and eventually cost me a left below knee.

Luckily that video is from a computer game.
Im not up for that kind of riding.

Oh......haha, manage to get it out ok?
With a little help from my friends but unfortunately it seized an hour later…. Mud and shite got past the air filter I think and turned the oil to toothpaste. So it’s all apart being cleaned and new bearings etc and barrel plated 🙄

F***, easy enough to strip?

This is mine it’ll be a while before it sees tarmac again. I have finally made a start on it. By actually stripping back off the previous owners seat come whatever it was. Changing out the knackered shock. And sorting out the what and how I am going to replace it with.

Is that a chopped Honda CX500?

Looks belt driven, if I remember correctly the cx was shaft driven.
Shaft driven, shaft on the right hand side and brake on the visible side in the photo. First "big" jap twin I ever rode after years of mobile oil slicks (which are all apparently "classics" now!), first one with twin front discs as well which was more of a shock to the system!

No it’s a GL500 (83) the later version using the same engine but the frame is slightly different and it has mono shock as standard (excuse me if I am telling you about a bike you’re familiar with).
However for some reason many of the CX custom jobs have mono shock conversions.

They do seem to have quite a following. I have joined a forum or two and read far more. Looking for info and ideas. They command a variety of prices, in some countries they make quite serious money.

For me it was a case of it was sat there unloved (since the previous owner passed). I used to ride bikes but avoided taking my test at the time, I might not be here if I had.
I have the space and the equipment to do something with it. It’s nearly 40 years old so no MOT and free tax. Cheap insurance too, making it cheap enough to keep for occasional use.
