Just noticed this on the CPSA Insurance
What are you going on about? I don't do cryptic stuff.Just noticed this on the BASC insurance.
Legal cover.
You're on your own son.![]()
If that's a joke then don't give up the day job son! It's hardly cryptic is it
Its a joke, because there is no legal cover.
So your dig at the CPSA limited cover, holds no weight compared to BASC s, who don't actually have any.
Is that clear enough for you?
Oh dear , someone got out of bed wrong* this morningIf that's a joke then don't give up the day job son!
It wasn't a dig at the CPSA at all either. Try putting your brain into gear and reading the rest of my post "I suspect that this is standard across all the shooting insurances. I therefore wonder how many of the guns on a driven day are still insured after 11:15AM given that a tot of something at 11:00AM is pretty standard on driven game shoots."
*If we stand together and push each organisation to fight together for our future.
Absolutely !I cant remember the number of times and number of people who advocated a merger to strengthen ourvoice - clearly our voice isn't strong enough - or someone has been deaf for years.

Absolutely !
Why , in the face of imminent threat to private firearms ownership, and shooting in general , can all shooting orgs not get there heads together, if not merge , have some kind of working group , to speak with one voice to police and government ?
My belief is , that the main partner being BASC , either do not want to give up their supposed top spot, or their aims are not aligned with the others orgs....
What those aims are , they appear to not want to share with the plebs who pay for the 'privilege' of being members, but I fancy that , if shared , or put to any kind of meaningful vote, would mean those members would be jumping the proverbial plague infested, burning ship.
If BASC are the voice of shooting, they are pretty dumb , and very deaf to whats happening, and that IMHO, is completely intentional, and downright unacceptable .
Where the money is, and where BASCs main interests lie.they unite for game shooting, which obviously is top on their agenda.
Always has been always will be, as your last paragraph. Not one of them will join or merge, it could have happened in the 90's CA and BASC but the wildfowlers and pigeon shooters came in droves to vote against a merger. BASC will Reap the whirlwind, my thoughts, just a paper tiger with a squeak not a roar. A club with no voice to take on the police, who think they are no threat to any action they take.Absolutely !

Just an observation from the side but, dont you think driven game shooting an its protection would be the main priority of the game keeping organisations "NGO, SGA" id imagine a touch of a clue would be in their names.Where the money is, and where BASCs main interests lie.
Traditionally yes, but if only gamekeepers joined the NGO , and only clay shooters joined the CPSA ect , then all of these 'fringe' orgs would be weak.Just an observation from the side but, dont you think driven game shooting an its protection would be the main priority of the game keeping organisations "NGO, SGA" id imagine a touch of a clue would be in their names.

I absolutely understood that , being drunk at the wheel of your car can 'technically' invalidate the insurance , but when I tried a little humour on BASCs removal on its legal cover , a move that caused a mass exodus from them, someone lost their %$£"I believe the point being called out re the CPSA insurance ( as was the same with the side-by-side one) was that there are plenty of avenues that the companies can use to get out of covering you as with the clause re alcohol
They wont as it means spending your funds ! they need them to keep there nice jobs and the lights on ?Why don't BASC take one case and fight it in court as a test case. This would likely ensure that any future confiscations would be given sufficient consideration to ensure that they didn't end up in court.
I also have BASC membership but won't be renewing next year as I am particularly disappointed with their lack of response or support for this issue ( and I don't live in Devon or Cornwall).
