Storage of Moderator. Is it a "relevant component part" According to Firearms Act 1968 (as amended)?

I have several moderators on my FAC for rifles from .17hmr to .308, none of them have identifying marks. My FAC states:-
“The Sound Moderator Serial No. unknown is authorised solely for use with the xx rifle” and this is repeated for each moderator. As each has no identifying mark/serial number and they are all 1/2 UNF threaded I have always regarded this really as a totally unnecessary bureaucratic nonsense however I understand that new moderators are now all being numbered and In time each will be specified for use only on each gun as specified on your certificate. Just don’t ask me why!

Given the ease and number of FAC revocations, anything but honesty and reasonable precautions to secure the items entered on your FAC could lead to revocation... no-one plans to be burgled, but there's enough scrotes out there all to willing to do it... I wouldn't want to be the one calling my FEO or FLD explaining items entrees on my FAC have been taken from my home... I don't think I was cleaning it would wash... as you wouldn't have been burgled and it taken if you were actually cleaning it..

Either way the OP has his answer. It would be interest to see if the OP and others have the same condition, albeit it may be a different number?
Will dig out my FAC after work
Similarly worded condition on my FAC.

Why do you need to wrap your mod with cammo tape to stop it pinging, just pick up some post office elastic bands and twist one or two arround your mod tight, problem sorted.

Component part so treat as a fac. However legislation is being processed so hopefully there will be no need to authorise or treat as a componet part.
