Given increasing difficulties in travelling with Firearms, would a Bow be a lot easier?

I know bows cannot be used fir shooting animals in the UK, but it’s perfectly legal to hunt with a bow in many parts of the world.

Given that increasingly there lots more restrictions, embuggeration factors etc of travelling with firearms, especially rifles, would a bow be a much easier and simpler choice of a travelling hunting weapon.

Not asking or debating whether or not its a better hunting weapon. The question is really is it much easier to travel from your home to the hunting camp in another part of the world?

In other words you just book your tickets, pack your bow and go rather having lots of paperwork, having to arrive at check in hours before hand, having to pay extra, then having lots of police / customs checks etc etc.

No, several airlines have now changed bows to be catergorised as 'weapons' even when atheletes are flying to sporting competitions.

Has caused untold havoc with people arriving but equipment detained in another airport, or held back at customs etc.

Easiest solution, borrow a rifle at the final destination, I will never travel with a rifle again, and as above, there are restrictions on a bow as well.
I would be very disappointed if I were to travel abroad to hunt but could not take my own rifle (or bow, if bowhunting were my thing).

(Not that I've ever travelled abroad to hunt, but one day I might, and I sincerely hope that my trusty old Parker-Hale will be coming too).

Depends where you go I suppose, 4 times to the USA for me, hassle every time at Heathrow, even involved the airport police once.
I remember several times on here, 'you won't need a Form 6A when you arrive in the US', I always ignored that advice, good job I did, last time me and my 3 travelling friends were asked for it on arrival and serial numbers checked, god knows what would of happened if I hadn't got that form.
I really doubt I will return, but if I do I have made some great friends over there, and a loan of a rifle isn't an issue, last few times I was loaned a semi-auto shotgun for the duration, by a famous hunter over there, and thats all I'm saying!

It all depends on who you fly with and from where ?
Just back from Croatia this week
No problem from Newcastle and Klm to Croatia . 30 mins from check in to duty free.
No extra fees for rifle and ammo if booked in with flights
Not a lot of paperwork just a customs form for Schipol only takes about 20 mins to do and cost nothing.
