Syndicate warning

Just a heads up in a hope of protecting people in the future.

I found a syndicate position through social media (not TSD) had a lengthy discussion with the gamekeeper about cull no.s, walked the ground did the research and paid my fee.

Syndicate was based in much Wenlock, Brockton, Shropshire.

Putting aside the times I was not allowed to visit the ground as they were working on the farm, including muck spreading at 6am in winter on a Sunday, the times I had visited I saw not 1 deer (I have thermal too) .

Although I cannot garuntee there are not deer on the ground (they should be in the area) what is clear is the gamekeeper is overselling the syndicate. Statement was that there were only 6 people and only me and one other were new members. This was not the case. I was added to a WhatsApp ground where everyone was a new member.

The result of all the above has ended with me and many others getting our money back but I have a strong feeling the gamekeeper has only been able to refund me and others is because they’ve had new payments off other unsuspecting joiners.

Lesson learnt from myside but this whole experience has left a bitter taste. Syndicate seems to be sold under various names and slight changes in location. Proceed with caution people.

Might be worth doing a search also as was mentioned a while back on here, there have been some strange events concerning deer syndicates etc in the area... I have not lived in IronBridge for over 10yrs now so might be a completely different thing but as said care sometimes needed.

If its the same guy, he's always advertising the same thing in slightly different locations on "behalf of a friend".

Nearly got caught out myself and know a few others who did get caught out by him.

I got ripped off ,around that area ,when I first started,,some time ago now,,,its very hard to know who is genuine,though I have to say,, I have also,,been taken out by some very nice folk,,,still looking for something local..of my own,,I live in Bridgnorth, so very close to wenlock.

Generally , if I see one advertised I automatically assume its a crock of sh*t.


If a syndicate is that good , it will be dead man's shoes and there WILL be folk waiting to get in.

I found myself in an excellent syndicate, advertised via SD. Works v well indeed for me. Absolute delight, what a blessing for me.

Well done for warning people. Always wondered how these syndicates worked? Is it the case of 'pay your money and shoot ever deer on the place' or is there some kind of management plan (which probably still means that the deer you let live gets shot by the next stalker out)?

It's Stuart Stokes/SCS Stalking there are several posts on Deer Stalking UK (Facebook) with reference to his unscrupulous MO.

Yep. Spoke to this guy last year. Didnt ring true for me so turned it down.
Several FB pages have stories about people being conned. I think the police are involved but i cant confirm this.

My ex wife came from much wenlock, where abouts is the ground and who is the keeper as I still have connection to Bourton?

I've watched a few Roe around there and plenty of Fallow towards Cambers and Belzedine (spelling?).

It’s Stuart stokes at Brockton, I went beating on the shoot for 10 years before it changed hands, there is a handful of transient fallow on the estate (1-3 fallow seen every couple of months). Stuart doesn’t even have the shooting rights on the estate, he works on the chicken farm there and helps out with minimal part time keepering.

Stuart stokes absolute bad news , had a lot of local stalker s ask me about this syndicate warned them all luckily they never parted with any cash , I contacted him no intention of joining his made up syndicate but what he was saying didn't add up to me as I know the area very well , Avoid this con artist !!

I understood there are not that many deer in Shropshire to start with compared with other areas?
