Goodbye old friend

I had to say goodbye to Katy my Labrador today. She's been my best friend for 12 years, we must have walked thousands of miles together stalking deer all over the UK. She's never complained no matter what the weather, and found me loads of deer.
Rest in peace Katy.

sorry for your loss , lost one of mine a few months ago and still in bits about it . Brilliant shooting dog , geese , deer , pheasant etc etc . but also a self taught assistance dog to my youngest , first on 02 content for her serious asthma ( before it became critical low then when she got this long covid thing she has been having seizures and by gosh he only need to see one and that was him trained to alert her before hand to sit down etc .
I have had some good dogs but will never get over loosing him ! By gosh though i never cured him of pegging stuff - the list was massive ( though he didn't hurt baby birds n such if they say fell from the nest ) we got them given and lead back to where we should return them .

sorry to hear of this, been there a few times, doesn't get easier. still remember them all as if it was yesterday.

what is it they say, better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all..

All the members on here who have and work their dogs will have had this happen and we are all sorry for your loss. The only thing that get me through this is to get a pup as soon as possible.
