Just fill the case with Lil gun, squash a 45 GR Sierra sp in to correct length. Head shoot rabbits and hares at 100 yds all day. If it doesn't, throw the rifle away and get a good Hornet.
Pretty much , this older gun might actually need the slighter smaller Hornet size , kranks keep them ! A good hornet will do a lot further than 100 yards head shots but this is an old gun . 140 yards is my set zero distance on my own modern .22 hornet it will go moa or better very consistently at 200 - Its a modern CZ though that i pillar bedded and its been breathed on a bit here and there and a well mounted quality modern scope in good mounts .
So you have a CZ as do I. I was merely trying to point out that with just a simple load it is easy to achieve reasonable shooting. So ok with a consistent load of powder and the correct bullet, my zero setting is 150 yds with an S&B scope well mounted, and I can achieve similar accuracy to you. I will however bet that you've never shot Fallow at that distance with yours, which I did regularly before 1960.
