Excellent rifles, once you've sanded out the barrel channel to make it free-floating.
I should think that P-H have been responsible for more deer shot in the UK than any other make over the years.
Somewhat out of fashion now though.

pH Safari on a Military Action great rugged reliable gun, I’d love that.
Nothing wrong with a DECENT Parker Hale rifle. The gun snobs won't like them which IMHO is because of those awful bastardised faux Weatherby things they made for the USA market. Skip line chequering, a pistol grip like a horse's hoof and a trapezoid profile forend. Not their fault in that sense you make what your main outlets demand and that in the 1970s definitely was the USA and not the UK.
Nothing wrong with a decent Parker Hale like the one the OP has asked about. I've owned four M81 Classic models. Two in .270 WCF (both at the same time - now sold), one in .30/06 (I still have that seen below) and one in 6mm Remington (now sold).

I would assume your right an 1100M or Safari same action Ex military I’ve had the same rifle since 98 when I bought it in SA and have used it around the world ever since, it was restocked after it feel out of a Land Cruiser that decided to roll over on us
. I’ve had many other Mauser action DG rifles none has done anything that the PH can’t do. Shoots straight, works upside down and back to front every time (import in a DG rifle) hits what it’s pointed at properly.

The M81s were very nice rifles , I haven't seen one for sale in a long time . I know where a number of them are , but they're owners are the selfish sort and won't sell them to me .

They never used FN’s. Sako did as well as browning (same stocks), all basically an ‘FN’ apart from bolt release on browning. Some husky’s were made on the old FN C ring too, and clearly a lot of military actions - however, never seen a PH milsurp or commercial on an FN, all German or Santa Barbara as far as I know and have seen

That’s what I thought - although I didn’t feel I was enough of an expert to state this out and out. Fairly familiar with the others but, and you can’t go wrong with an FN 98…

Won’t have before if I did it was in the days of film not digital photos. Rifles up at Bisley but will try and remember to get some photos next time I’m in the armoury.
It will shoot fine. I have 4 Safaris that look exactly like yours. 30-06 308 243 222. All shoot your thumb nail at 100.
