Just trying to do some homework on reloading . I have all the gear but very little idea , so trying to pick a few brains .same response as one on top of two has given, what load data are you following?
It would be very well worth buying a good reloading manual such as the Hornady or Lyman which has not only load data but excellent chapters on reloading technique.Just trying to do some homework on reloading . I have all the gear but very little idea , so trying to pick a few brains .

Yes had to settle for 200 CCI primers £16I have always used federal small rifle gold match primers for sierra 52g in 223.
The problem seems to actually getting some. You may have to take what you can get that suits a small rifle 223 cartridge.
You did OK on price thereYes had to settle for 200 CCI primers £16
Any SRP will work (sans the Rem 6 1/2's). Even then, I have used 6 1/2's without issue. I think the concern is when they are run through an AR. That floating firing pin has been known (rarely, but known) to slam fire 6 1/2's before. In a bolt action rifle, you would be fine however.223 may well need a thicker cup, so remington 7.5 or cci 450.
Remington 6.5 states not for 223.
I'm just going by what our resident reloading expert says:Any SRP will work (sans the Rem 6 1/2's). Even then, I have used 6 1/2's without issue. Understood. Laurie has a lot of experience in the industry, and I don't discount his information. That being said, I believe Remington's warning is an overly cautious warning. See my post below as to why....
