Who are you currently insured with?Let me know what you find as I also have the d max
Still on the subject of insurance, who are people using for 4x4 insurance?
I'm currently with NFU, and the premium for my Isuzu D-Max has just gone up to £670 / year, which I think is extortionate.
Looking to change.
Yep Just look at Range Rovers now. Virtually uninsurableInsurance seems to have got technical, taking into account not only "your" age , driving / claims history, vehicle engine size etc.
A lot of it now seems to be weighted to the potential cost of repair / writing off.
I was toying with getting a 1985 LR pickup. Put it in an insurace search as an additional vehicle for me (cant use no claims on two vehicles) and named driver for a 17yr old girl, just passed test, and the quote was under £300.00.
Same specs with 2010 Ford Galaxy about £600
Same specs with 2016, 1.5l focus over a grand.
At the end of the day, if they see your vehicle being a risk (not you) the premium will be high regardless of where you look![]()
Did not Land Rover bring out their own insurance scheme for Range Rovers due the prices/ knock backs from regular companies?Yep Just look at Range Rovers now. Virtually uninsurable
I was with LV a few years ago and the premium was hiked at renewal - did a "go compare", being careful to select like for like and the cheapest came out as LV, £50 less than my renewals quote!!My mate is in his 70's and has an old Discovery. It used to be around £350, but this renewal they wanted over £900, no reason given. He did a "go compare" and got the same type of insurance but from a different firm for £600. It seems they have all gone up massively.
You might be very surprised.Churchill. L200 £454 last year, renewal due end May.
I'm prepared to be shocked! (even if it did go up 40% last year!)You might be very surprised.
