Yes, it's a bit more recoiling, a bit more noisy, not much bullet weights to choose from and yes there's more modern cartridges BUT go in to any Scottish gun shop or on any Scottish sporting estate and you should find some ammo...
Still true..??

Probably in its hey day before copper and before moderators. Performs best with 24-26” barrels - stick a can on that and you’re a lightening rod.

Due to moderators becoming the norm, calibres that will be efficient in 16”-18” barrels will likely be more popular - ex 7-08 and .308. The popular 6.5cm generally is cut too short in many offerings IMHO, but that’s likely because the manufacturers think hunters are stupid and want handy rifles that still balance well with a mod.

As above.
Not suited to the consumer economy we live in.
How many new 270 rifles are sold now?

Ye but ye but ye
They knew how to make rifles them days apparently, no plastic or crap steel, that’s why you can keep using them forever they don’t wear out 🤣🤣🤣. Sooooo you don’t need a new one - simples

I cut a roe doe in half with one of those a few years back,( BSA majestic ) it kicked like a mule as well

But I’ve shot a couple since and they do appear to have calmed down a bit, mate of mine knocks a few over with his very well and he loves it

The 270 is the Queen of all calibres, does everything you need to do with elegance and minimal fuss.

Shot one for donkeys years before I sold it to get the Queen mother of all the 7x57

You should not notice recoil if you are tucked into the stock and concentrating on the beast in the scope..
You will never hear a comment from a double rifle shooter after the shot talk about re-coil only "look at the size of it"

Advertising sells modern chambering but they have not reached a 100 years just like the "new" electric cars

It knocks the deer down nicely and there's plenty components available if you want to reload. My 270 tikka lite is easy to carry all day, unlike my Bergara Wilderness Terrain in 6.5 Creedmoor.
