I'm not against private education and definitely agree that tax brackets need to move with inflation and average earnings (just like council tax bands should move with house prices) but that doesn't alter that the average yearly private school fee is over ⅔ the average salary meaning it's definitely not something for the average or even slightly better off person to be able to afford.That’s not right there’s more folk in the upper tax bracket than ever because the brackets barely moved. Don’t forget a lot of grand parents and extended family contribute to fees not just parents who have possibly been saving for years not just there current earnings.
People should be able to spend money how they please especially where children’s education is concerned, it’s mental to think a section of society are angry because they view them as under paying tax dodgers.
Let’s also be clear any additional tax revenue collected by any government will be wasted of course.
