Labour using firearm licensing to pay for knife crime prevention

Doesn't work and hasn't worked.

Doesnt work and hasn't worked

How? a new just one starts up.

Doesn't work and hasn't worked.
Someone just fills their place.

This I agree with.

The rest of it though has been done for decades and decades in many, many countries and it just doesn't work.
almost like the war on drugs is unwinable? legalise the lot, sell pure drugs through registered dealers, like canabis shops abroad.
tax heavily and every body wins.
every study ive seen show most are safer than fags and horse riding, its the crude they are mixed with that cause dangers.
users want drugs, work out a way to stop the bigs one and a new one will appear or old ones like solvents

Financially it doesn't make sense, it's just something to get votes based on an ideology. It doesn't have to make financial sense for those who believe it's the right thing to do even if plenty of other don't feel it's the right thing.
You're absolutely right.

Here's a question, if private education is a bad thing and leads to unfair outcomes, then why are so many of the Shadow Cabinet privately educated?
Even as a matter of belief, this policy doesn't stack up. It is stupid, vicious and unfair at every level - as are those who support it. There is not one single coherent argument for it.

In no way is canabis safer than fags, its a brain altering drug for pities sake . Horse riding is an entirely different set of risks but those who do it have a complete handle on what the risks are ( and its not organised by Criminal gangs unlike the drug trade)
Its not un-winnable its just we have yet to hit it hard enough at all levels

but is it? the dutch dont seem worried, rastas seem to like it.
its only run by gangs because its illegal. fags and booze kill people, undiniable fact. both earn the gov money so are ok, horse riding kills people but is ok. drugs kill people but people still want them.
drugs war will never be won, we can find magic mushrooms all over the uk, its now illegal to pick and eat! how can the police control that! people sniffed glue and aerosoles, now its nos cans, how can the police control that? they cant.
nanny state needs to get over its self and stop wasting our money

Plenty of people have been using cannabis responsibly for many many years. Smoke too much when you're growing and maturing and it'll likely have impacts on your life later on, just like alcohol and cigarettes.

If you have an underlying mental health issue then taking any drug, even alcohol or something highly addictive like nicotine is going to exacerbate issues.

People meeting up and smoking a joint in the park or back garden don't cause problems for others, however plenty of people doing the same and having a drink often cause huge problems.

Thanks for sharing.
Labour have promised not to put up tax.
This will be just one of many ways they will have to extract money from the public.
It will make the cost of doctors medical forms look insignificant.

I wouldn't have an issue covering the cost of my FAC and SGC as it only seems fair.

That an interesting statement.

How much do you think the full cost is?
For example, my local garage charge £70/ an hour for a mechanic to change oil.
Solicitor's charge rates are over £300/h.
So I'm guessing a FLO might be charged out at closer to the £300/h.

How long would it take to process a new application?
I'd guess atleast 8 hours?
8 hours @ £300 = £2400.

That's s big figure and enough for me not to vote Labour.

BASC get a hard time on here for not doing enough to support shooting.
Well here is everyone's opportunity to make a choice.
Given that Labour manifesto pledge, anyone voting Labour is voting for the end of privately held firearms.

No evidence / study available for the last point . Of course Alcohol is legal, regulated and illegal to serve to those under age . Cannabis is sold by criminals and is not legal

" labour have pledged not to put up tax " Well how the heck can any party say that ? Where is the fiscal plan that demonstrates that is even possible ? We could very well be fighting a world war .
How do you Know they are lying ? look for the lips moving ! They cannot just seize firearms without fully compensating the owners , then how do we deal with agricultural pests / deer and buy out all the businesses involved ?
Its All a load of lies that they are throwing out to the idiots . I give them a very short term in office when they start dropping their pledges and the economy dips and the taxes rise and rise. Last time round these sort of policies created a brain drain of the biggest tax payers and investors globally British and foreign residents left and took there skills and companies elsewhere in the world .

Knife crime, hysterical. As if a knife ever committed a crime. Why not put a tax on all knives? Butter knives, steak knives, butcher knives, plastic knives. By the way, why isn’t knife just spelled nife? Remember the guy riding a bike who accidentally got bumped by a man in a car. The bike rider produced a zombie killer knife and tried to get the car driver. I’m sure there are laws there that don’t allow carrying a knife like that. How could a guy possible carry a knife like that around, its against the law.
