Yes, for two fallow with a pal down in E Sussex, it was fine, then with a boar we broke it, his children weren't happy when the snow fell!

My advice would be buy a JetSled from @Stirlinggundogs on here or via Glade Deer Management mine is in it's fourth season and does 130 odd deer a year
 
jet sleds are great: make sure if you get one, that you get the extra runners for it. Also there are a couple of superb mods on Youtube for the pulling rope. Well worth doing this too. I love mine - hoiked out all sorts of deer out of some very inhospitable places...
 
Jury is still out on jetsled for me. Bought 2 recently and they aren’t as strong as the old plasterers bath I have and no where near as solid as the green drag tub I had from reeves deer mgt about 15+ years ago, which it’s still going strong but too small for reds. Wish I knew where to get those from again.

I buckled a corner of a jet sled first time I used it, just trying to push a stag into the pickup. Has popped back into shape but don’t feel they’ll last that long.

The other person I know who has buckled his Jetsled was shooting lowland reds, is that what you were loading? I've had no issues with mine on hill reds but they are probably 1/2 to 2/3 the weight of the lowland reds I shoot

To be fair, he was a decent size - 135kg skinned.
 
Has anyone tried fitting aluminium runners (maybe doorway threshold strips) to a plasterers bath? Something to help it slide with a bit less resistance?

I've found the bath attached to a rucksack with a good waist strap makes things a lot easier but a 50kg fallow or more does create a lot of resistance. My drag is between 1km and 1.5km so it's quite the leg burner.

These were outstanding. I still have one.

I looked for a replacement recently, but no sign anywhere. I don’t think they’re made any more.

If it’s the one I think, it’s very boat like, and really floats over boggy ground.

They were...and they aren't (to my knowledge)
 
A good idea, although, as others have pointed out they aren’t the sturdiest when heavily laden.
 
Here is a good idea on the heckpak for the tow ball system (turned into a wheelbarrow) go to minute 11:45. The boar was 150kg BTW.
