17 centrefire

a good tip if you are struggling with tight patches, is to use 1nch or 1/18 which i use, dont use a specific 17 specific bore guide, use a 22 c/f one, your patches will go through no problem, and do not use a parker hale rod you will wreck your barrel ,just clean your barrel like you would if it were a 22 c/f ,and dont ask in a gunshop for 17 patches most likely they will sell you patches for a 177 air rifle which are useless bs

LOL! Now you're going to make me pull out my PO Ackley books, and check!

You may be right. In the days before the 17FB was a commercial offering though, the 221 was what was used to make 17 Mach IV (just neck it down, no neck turning).
Vern O B designed the 17 Mach IV (Grizzly bear killer) off the 221 Fb, which in turn was based on Rem 222.
Kb.
Ps. Maybe

Took my 17 Rem out last night, saw 2 Fox's, 1 managed to sneak through the hedge and disappeared, the 2nd sat out at 240 yards and wouldn't budge, so he dropped on the spot taking a 20g Vmax in the bib, just love it.
