What is the lightest reflex (over barrel) mod on the market that will cover a 243 and how much will it extend length approx. I have a T4 at the moment which I believe weighs 580gr Thanks

I here that the sonic 45 is very light I do have some one bringing one to our rifle shoot this Sunday to test it so will have a good look at it and see how it performs against all the others on the day.

A-Tec Maxim is as light as it gets. Made from alloy with stainless steel baffles for longevity.

Over barrel mods might be shorter than muzzle mounted but the design mostly means heavier weight.
Muzzle mounted mods are more efficient. (less material for a given volume)
Another thing, never believe "light", rather ask what it actually weighs in grams or ounces.
I use a 308 Delta mod that weighs 190 grams and is 7" long. Shoot one deer after the other... no problem.

third eye over barrel mod is verry light and slim ,or the a-tec maxim fitted both my votes on the third eye i think its a better build quality ,but both verry good

The reason the Lawrence Precision mods are so expensive is because they are made of Titanium. This makes them very light and corrosion resistant.

I use a Roedale ultra lite mod, it is end of barrel type and increases barrel by about 5 inches, weight is only 200g so very user friendly !!

Not sure which is the lightest on the market but we had a bit of a play with a couple on Sunday at the shoot.

T8 weight was 1lb and 7oz
Sonic with 6 baffles weight was 1lb 1oz

So a good bit lighter they were both put on the same .243 and the noise reduction was the same so not a bad out come for the sonic if you want to lighten up abit. These are available from all good gunshops and a few bad ones as well, also they are from highland outdoors.

Lawrence Precision - utterly brilliant. You get what you pay for - as in all walks of life.

But not very quiet and the customer service is might leave something to desire if you believe what you read on this site and other forums.:-|

Sonic 6 over 500gms
A-Tec Maxim 370gms

A decibel here and there makes no difference to me or the deer for that matter and I never said they were all quieter, only the largest, the Eclipse and I speak as I find regards service and I seldom believe whiners on forums as you rarely get both sides to the story as I found to my cost only today - trying to do someone a favour only to get shafted, again, when will I learn.

HME you sing the praises of the Lawance loudly, only pointing out that others that have posted on here in the past have not been so enamoured, especially with his customer service, maybe they got the standard of service they deserved? I don’t know, hence why I finished it with a neutral smiley:-| which summarises my position on the matter.

Just tested a Sonic45 mod this afternoon up against the ATec maxim and am pleasantly surprised. The Sonic seemed to be quieter and certainly cut down on the felt recoil more than the Maxim.

They were both on a 6.5x284 which is a big case to tame
