I love the 25-06, and this one needed. little nudge into modernity.

Had .25-06 for 20yr
BAT HR left hand action kreiger barrel
But barrel the usual 1 in 10

As malxwal asks what modernised it ?
Faster twist ?

The 25 cal renaissance is on, with chamberings like 25 Creedmoor, 25x47L and 25GT. It would be great to see quality brass for 25-06 and the faster twist barrels now available to run the new bullets available from Berger, Sierra and Hornady.

Just completed my custom rifle in 25-06, taken a while to get finished but done now.

Now that copper bullets are to be forced upon us, the 25-06 with its high velocities may see a resurgence. Unfortunately, factory offerings are few and far between, so handloading would seem the way forward.

Nosler and Norma offer brass for those wanting a little better quality, some would suggest they are the same.

I have got some Vertus and Barnes bullets to try. 80 grain Barnes at 3700fps should be interesting.

Standard 10 twist on mine though.

Hi.
That is a very handsome rifle. Could you give a breakdown of the components please? Action, barrel etc.

Congratulations on your daughter's deer. Is that a Whitetail?

One of the nice things about the 25-06 is the modest recoil in relation to its performance.
Thats actually my cousin's daughter 😉

The rifle is a bone stock 700 action, a Proof Research carbon fiber 20" 1:7.5 twist barrel. And the original fiberglass stock cut to fit the young lady. The scope is an Arken 6-24. The rifle shoots 134 Hornady ELDM bullets just under 2900fps

Fox factory 100g stabilises in 1:10 and is superb
