When I read of that silly bint 'marrying' the Golden Gate Bridge, and that other idiot 'marrying' the Eiffel Tower I thought I'd seen the pinnacle of human stupidity. But no!

Just when you think you've seen it all, an even more impressive moron makes themselves known....

I mean, c'mon

I thought I was just turning into Victor Meldrew but no, the world is genuinely going UTTERLY MAD :banghead:
Isn't it though? We have blokes thinking they're women, women thinking they're blokes. We're all being told to talk about 'birthing people', and to mind our pronouns, menstrual products are being given to fellas....

If you try to report a crime the first ten options on the police online reporting form relate to 'hate crimes', but if you post a meme mocking it you'll be arrested for using hurty words.

Meanwhile, the royal family is disintegrating, Starmer and his band of happy morons are busy destroying the country, thousands of boat people are appearing with gay abandon, the world economy is f*cked, Trump appears to be doing his best to poke Putin enough to push the red button, and this silly cow is in tears because an imaginary person is about to be switched off.

Stop the world, I want to get off 🤔

We should follow Belgium! Stick with me on this!

Belgium went fo a period of around 18 months with no government in power. None. Zip. Nada.
And you know what? The roads were repaired, kids were educated, busses and trains ran as normal and everything functioned as it should.

Begs the question - do we actually need a government??

Please explain

AI in common use now are LLMs which have beguilingly credible outputs which people are treating as infallible truth. That is a huge error.

Ever since the first computer, programmers and users alike have proven the source data adage: "rubbish in equals rubbish out".

AI models have a very large pool of data on which to draw, no question. But a very large part of that which they use is oped, the thoughts of someone else. Owners of AI get to chose how to psophometrically weight some sources over others. [ My guess is that Grok's output to any given political question will vary greatly with that of GPT. For example]

Please explain as I am struggling to understand what you have said here (genuinely)
I'd agree with Zambezi's concise summary. The Large Language Models (ChatGPT, Grok etc) function by essentially predicting the next word. If you ask it, "Write me 1000 words on reintroducing lynx to Scotland" it will trawl the net, looking for all the information and then write 1000 words based on the probability of one word following another. (I'll stand corrected on this, as the precise way they work isn't known). This means they write very descriptive text, usually grammatically accurate. But, they cannot analyse and have no idea about strength of evidence. They "know" that a scientific articles has references, so they make them up. Originally (2 years ago) these were very made up, the algorithm have improved.
This means if you asked "I am lonely and my life is ****" it will serve up platitudes based on thousand of forum chat, within that there will be stuff you agree with (a bit like horoscopes or Briggs-Myers)
They are also hallucinating (see 2001 A Space Odyssey - on tonight) and will never say, "I don't know"
