Latest Quarterly National Police Chiefs council report on firearms licencing came out recently

https://www.npcc.police.uk/SysSiteA...rms-licensing---appendix---2---2025-26-q3.pdf

these seem to now come out pretty promptly now which is a positive thing i suppose.

it's a stupid report and most of the numbers dont mean what they seem like they should mean but it does give a general sort of directionality

My police force have dropped from 82% of application processed on within 4 months to 65% over the past 3 reports and are still processing less application per year than are coming in the door so the list just keeps getting longer

Our local constabulary merged a while ago - Suffolk/Norfolk, but are reporting separately?

I note City of London only had 13 applicants………guessing people are just buying on the street corner & not worrying about the licensing side of things these days😗
The City of London police, just covers the City of London which is just one square mile. There are only 8,000 who are resident within the Square mile. Mostly these will be live in staff in say St Paul’s Cathedral, or the Master of the Inn Holder’s Guild. There are a few ultra wealthy pent house type apartments above offices, but the vast majority of property is commercial office space with several hundred thousand commuting in and out. Hardly surprising that they have very few firearms or shotgun licenses to deal with.

The metropolitan Police cover most of the rest of London. I think there are separate police covering the Royal Parks.

In reality, mostly these consist of the residents of the brutalist Barbican housing estate, the social housing tenants of the CLC and housing associations, various smaller office conversions and assorted poky little flats above shops etc. They are not imaginary legions of various, archaic, semi-feudal, peasant watchkeepers nor robber baron plutocrats.

Take a look at the Refused/Revoked stats for Devon & Cornwall
Would be interested to know what Revoked actually means... As it could include those that have decided to give up their guns.... And there are a lot of people doing that down here.
