My park fallow are quite fascinated by my dogs, and when the dogs are loose on the yard the deer will sometimes come right down to the gate for a closer look. On one occasion a pricket actually touched noses with one of the collies through the gate. Yet if I approach the gate the deer are gone in a flash.

Very selective deer, they know you have murderous intent on occasions, sheep dogs not generally so much. Either that or they don't like your aftershave.

Aftershave??? Do I look the type? Last time I shaved was March 1995!
But yes, their ability to detect murderous intent is uncanny.

I've had too many really Smelly, against advice of mates. But I didn't listen either.
However third time lucky, but she's very poorly at present and that is a big worry.
